Imre Kertesz: LIQUIDATION
Shortly after the fall of Communism, a high-reputation writer, who was born and survived in Auschwitz, commits suicide. He leaves behind a wife, his circle of friends, and the manuscript of a play called Liquidation. Both the suicide and the manuscript forces the writer's wife and friends to confront their terrible moment in history - a moment that has haunted a generation.
This metaphysics-laden short novel is profound. This is my third Kertesz.
