The Road

Eerie, scary, shocking, bleak and depressing: this is how I describe this Pulitzer Prize – winning novel of Cormac McCarthy. The scenes still linger in my mind. Imagining such scenes give me goosebumps.

This briskly paced novel tells the struggle of a man and his son, both nameless throughout the novel, to survive in the roads post-apocalypse America. The apocalypse is not clear; however, it’s the will of a man to survive in a not so humane world that, I guess, is showcased in the book.
