Film Review: Don't Look Now

DON'T LOOK NOW (Nicolas Roeg, 1973)

A couple go to Venice during off-season to forget the tragic death of their young daughter. Venice during off-season is filled with ominous silence. A killer is on the loose. A blind woman they meet warns them of harm that awaits them.

The film is classified as horror for a reason. However, it's not the kind that deliberately scares the audience to promote screaming. It's the imagery, however subtle, that can run the audience's imagination and can bring chills. The team of Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie is an indispensable component of this great film.

The film is based on a short story by Daphne du Maurier.

Rating: 4.0/4.0

This is my second time to have watched the film.
