Par Lagerkvist: THE SIBYL

This book tells a dark parable of two people whose lives were changed forever on encounter with gods at different occasions. The one, an old woman, the sibyl, was cursed to live in obscurity after having been disgraced. The other, a man who drove away the man carrying a cross, was cursed to live eternally.

This novel by the Nobel Prize – winning author, Par Lagerkvist, is seriously thoughtful and meditative.
