Per Olov Enquist: THE STORY OF BLANCHE AND MARIE

The Story of Blanche and Marie by Per Olov Enquist is fiction with characters based on real people. Historical fiction is, maybe, the appropriate term. The narrative is dizzying, a sort of puzzle-like sometimes. However, the novel itself is interesting for it involves famous personalities of science – Marie Curie, Paul Langevin, Jean-martin Charcot, Sigmund Freud, Ernest Rutherford, Svante Arrhenius, etc. Leaving a lot of questions, the novel appears like an investigation of some dangerous affairs in the midst of some great scientific endeavors in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Definitely, the book is a read worth my time.
