Haruki Murakami: HEAR THE WIND SING

Quite restrained and conservative, this novel is typically Murakami in terms of what the characters are preoccupied with, like listening to music, watching films, reading books, being interested in strangers, etc. This is Murakami's first novel and the first book in the Rat Trilogy. I read the Wild Sheep Chase, last book in the trilogy more than a year ago and, in my opinion, it can stand alone as a novel.
