Movie No. 23 (2020): JUDGEMENT AT NUREMBERG

Judgement At Nuremberg (1961)
Director: Stanley Kramer
Cast: Maximilian Schell, Spencer Tracy, Montgomery Clift, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, Richard Widmark, Burt Lancaster

The movie is a dramatization of one of the Nuremberg Trials. This particular trial prosecutes the other major war criminals of the Holocaust such as the judges, doctors, and businessmen. In the fictionalized trial, however, we see only four accused and their lawyer, the prosecuting team, three American judges, and witnesses. While the trial centers on the four defendants, it seems like an indirect moral inquiry to the German people who may have done nothing to stop the atrocities committed by the Nazis.

I’m not sure how the Germans reacted to this film made by Stanley Kramer, an American film director, in the early 1960s. There could be accusations of bias and historical inaccuracy.
This is a film where every actor in the cast performed well. Maximilian Schell's won an Academy Award winner for Best Actor for this film. The supporting cast equally did well. Otherwise, the film would be bland. This is a film where the narrative flow relies more from the characters and dialog than from flashbacks and twists in the narrative.
