Celeste Legaspi is the titular Mamang in the movie. The movie suggests she's having an early onset of Alzheimer's disease. She's living with her only son, who's gay. She's frequented by visitors from her past. These visitors - her husband, a suitor, and a mysterious soldier - are personifications (i.e., hallucinations) of whatever memories she can remember and live with as she slowly forgets.
Mamang is presented as lovable but bored. However, I'm not sure if Celeste Legaspi is the best actor to portray Mamang. She looks too gorgeous in some scenes, while wrinkled in some. The movie is heartbreaking with occasional humor. Some scenes are tedious and repetitive. The latter I can take as representing routine.
But, I enjoyed it.
