The movie was an adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same title. I didn't have the chance to read the novel. But, seeing it made me see Stephen King's hand giving the characters, real or imagined, things to say and do. Gerald's Game is an accomplished movie of the genre. The role assigned to Carla Gugino was a your-time-to-shine kind. She did shine. The establishing of horror and thrill in important scenes was meticulous.
