Mary is an ex-con. She served six months in jail for attacking a girl in a night club. Her short temper makes her do things that get her in trouble. He lashes at her mother for being late to fetch her during her release. This is the beginning of the movie. Her best friend (Charlene) does not appear in the celebration of her release. But, Charlene assigns Mary as Maid of Honor in her coming wedding. Mary complains. She says she must find a date in the wedding. So, the search ensues. Funny things happen. Unexpected things happen. The movie becomes an even more interesting character study. The speech Mary writes for the wedding reception becomes a character. The journey becomes a journey toward discovering things that will change their relationships forever.
